This short Articulate Rise course focuses on the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19).
Problem: During the early phases of the outbreak in the western hemisphere, most people were understandably concerned by any symptom that signaled a respiratory infection.
Solution: This course helps people assess their symptoms and figure out what type of respiratory infection they might have.
Problem: Teachers of first-year health science students anecdotally reported a lack of interest from students during 2.5-hour classroom lectures and poor retention of information, as measured by tests.
Analysis: A survey was taken to measure students' self-perceptions concerning their level of engagement in various aspects of their classroom experience. In informal interviews, students expressed a desire for varied classroom experiences.
Learning Solution: This eLearning module is the first part of a self-paced and interactive unit designed to increase student engagement. It was used as a partial replacement to one lecture. Students had the option to consider the basic necessary information included, or dive deeper by considering the additional resources included with the unit. The instructor was also available to answer questions and provide guidance.
Software Used: Articulate Storyline 360I decided to build this as an ADDIE interactive cheat sheet, assisting newer IDs to remember the high points of the process.
Most of the definitions and explanations come from Wikipedia and I've included some hyperlinks to additional information.
In fact, I decided to try Articulate's "Import Slides" function for this project, so I created the base layer in PowerPoint and then made all the explanatory content appear as layers in Storyline.
Problem: A learning team at the paint shop had an intricate workflow that needed to be distilled into a handy checklist. This was particularly important as new team members were being added to grow the team, and there was limited time for one-on-one coaching through the process.
Analysis: The workforce was partially remote and it would be important to access the document at all times. Rather than take time out of the established team's workday, a performance support tool would be best for new team members to use after initial onboarding.
Learning Solution: This e-learning checklist represents a simple online job-aid, hosted in the team's shared file structure. It walks the user through phases of the workflow with options to expand for further information. Additional resources for completing each step are also available.
This demo was inspired by the Articulate E-Learning Heroes Challenge #257.
Problem: The concept for this began with an idea of a maintenance team, tasked with caring for different areas of a building. After an initial training session, employees were expected to remember details related to their work assignments in a large building. Some tasks occured infrequently, and errors resulted from forgetful workers.
Analysis: Employees needed additional learning support to care for their various work assignments.
Learning Solution: I imagined a mobile platform as a performance support tool used to follow up formal learning with reminders about specific tasks. Learner would benefit from social learning (input from others who last cared for a task and could even save links to their favorite learning materials.

Problem: A lecture used an outdated PowerPoint to provide basic instruction about framing methods. It lacked up-to-date graphics and did not encourage learner engagement.
Learning Request: The lecture materials needed to be converted to self-paced e-learning content that encouraged student engagement.
Learning Solution: This module is an example that demonstrates one part of the update. It's redesigned for a more interactive and engaging learning experience about framing lumber. This course snippet demonstrates how multiple sliders can be combined for educational purposes.
This video-style eLearning module was delivered as part of a self-paced workshop designed to address the issues surrounding frequent adjunct instructor turnover.

This straightforward click-and-reveal interaction lets learners pull the information they need in an unstructured format. It uses markers, placed over a static slide, to transform it into something more explorable.
