Problem: A certain department of a technical college experienced high turnover among new adjunct instructors. This affected the continuity of instruction and student satisfaction.
Analysis: Informal surveys and reviews of formal exit interviews were conducted. Two themes emerged: (1) Instructors are provided with teaching materials created by their predecessors but without specific education in instruction, they struggle in adapting the materials to their own style. It featured an introductory video establishing the relevance of the workshop and preparing the instructors for what to expect.
